Child & Family

We see a large number of children and teenagers for a wide variety of issues.

For children less than 13 years old the parent/s are generally seen for an initial assessment session prior to the child being seen. We believe confidentiality is important, but also aim to promote positive communication between each child and their parent (s) to assist the most beneficial outcomes for each child.

In the case of separated families, we require consent from both parents before an appointment is made and there can be only one parent as the primary account holder. This helps ensure that everyone understands the child’s needs and are in the best position to support those needs being met. We do not prepare reports for family law purposes or liaise with legal parties in relation to access and custody arrangements.

After school appointments are in high demand so we recommend booking at least 8-12 weeks in advance if these priority times are required.

We generally view school refusal as an adolescent emergency and seek to make appointments as soon as possible following referral as a result.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to take NDIS participants as we are at capacity. If you are considering, or are in the process of applying for NDIS funding for your child’s sessions, we would suggest contacting other services.
